Recent research by a student travel company called Rustic Pathways, has revealed which of the world’s most popular destinations offer real value for money. At Gay Relationships, travel features highly on our favourite things to do, so we were keen to learn more about Europe’s best value city breaks.
Berlin
The study found Berlin to be the number one most economically savvy destination. For a high-tech, urban adventure, the city is easy to reach and affordable for budget conscious travellers. Take in the views from the Berlin TV Tower; see the historic Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag; walk along the world’s largest open-air gallery at The East Side Gallery.
Madrid
Madrid comes in second as a great value for money destination. With a rich tapestry of history, culture, and cuisine, this a must-see for those who enjoy city breaks. Visit the stunning royal palace, built from Spanish marble; feel the excitement of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium; admire the worlds most expensive collection of Spanish art at the Museo del Prado.
Tokyo
The world’s largest city - Tokyo - is a surprisingly inexpensive city to visit. Japan’s capital offers a seemingly unlimited choice of entertainment, shopping, culture, and dining experiences. Visit temples, museums, historic temples and gardens. Take a walking tour of the city to get your bearings; stroll around the beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden; visit a Japanese style pub for delicious small dishes and karaoke.
Barcelona
Barcelona comes in fourth as an inexpensive city to visit. Situated on Spain’s stunning coastline, Barcelona offers architectural wonders, beautiful beaches, and a dynamic culinary scene. With Spain holding the top two spots within the study, it’s clear that the country offers great value for money.
At Gay Relationships, we are looking forward to hearing about the exciting journeys our members take together this year!
